The Evangelization Team
"One can understand evangelization, in terms of the parish, as the
process of involving people in Eucharistic community so they can be of
service to the world. In this sense, only parishes can truly
evangelize..." Go And Make Disciples - U.S. Bishops
You
are invited to participate in a class on “Evangelization
as found in the Holy Scriptures”, by Father Robert McCreary.
When,
Where…? The second Monday of May – to – October, St.
Clare classroom – 7 to 8:30 p.m. SIX CLASSES, ONCE A MONTH.
In October of this year Pope Benedict XVI and the bishops will be holding a
Synod on “The Word of God in the Life
and the
Mission
of the Church”. With this class here at St. Joe, we
are trying to prepare to be ready, to understand and to put into practice
the initiatives of the October Synod on the Word of God.
For more information, see our parish website, under EVANGELIZATION. To
assure a place in the class, please notify Fr. Robert at McCreary@sjy.org
Introduction:
Parish Renewal:
The priest for this year's renewal will be Father Kevin
Peters, C.P. He will preach at all Masses February 9-10 and evenings
Sunday through Wednesday at 7 PM. Thursday evening, 7PM will be the
closing Mass of the Mission.
We help the parish find an outstanding Preacher for our Lenten parish renewal
week. McCreary@sjy.org leads this vital task
for the
parish.
The parish renewal is held during the season
of Lent.
Welcome New Parishioners:
We have 29 families and/or individual parishioners who call upon newly registered
parishioners in their homes, welcome these new parishioners, and offer information on St. Joseph parish.
We can always use additional parishioners to welcome new ones. Contact
Pat Smith by email patnan334@verizon.net
or 755-9490 for more information or to
volunteer.
