Little After Hours Teacher/SupervisorFacultyfull time - 10 month

Responsible for teaching/supervising in the 4 year old Pre-School and Kindergarten classroom(s) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Reports directly to the Coordinator of Extended Day Programs.

Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Responsible for the care, safety, and welfare of the students in their classroom
  • Plan and execute all lessons and activities for their classroom
  • Maintain appropriate discipline in the classroom at all times
  • Collect tuition for their students; maintain accurate records, and forward payments to the Extended Day Programs Coordinator.
  • Interface with parents and school personnel in a professional manner
  • Work as part of a supervisory team to maintain student safety during recess time

This position requires a high level of professionalism and accountability.  This enthusiastic, creative, and flexible position requires basic knowledge of how to deal effectively the very youngest of our school children, have the ability to create-plan-execute lesson plans, and be able to maintain a “fair but firm” discipline within the classroom.  This position needs to be able to work with both the parent and the primary school teacher and become an important “bridge” between home and school.  Being a self-starter and team player who is willing to take direction from the Coordinator of Extended Day Programs is a must.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Experience working with elementary-age children is preferred.  Experience with and/or certification in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

School CustodianMaintenancefull time - 12 month

A daytime custodial position will be available beginning in May at St. Joseph School.    Approximately 30 hours a week, Monday through Friday when school is in session, flexible hours during the summer months.

 

Applicants must be able to perform basic janitorial functions such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping and sweeping floors, washing windows, maintaining bathroom facilities, emptying trash, etc. Applicant must be able to lift 30 pounds, perform general grounds-keeping chores and removal of light snow, ensure general security of the building and grounds, and be willing to perform other related tasks as assigned. The position requires varying degrees of physical exertion, to include lifting, stretching, bending, climbing stairs and operating cleaning equipment. School Custodian (Substitute)Maintenancefull time - 12 month

This position is responsible for maintaining the school and any auxiliary buildings, as requested, in a clean and orderly manner at all times. Reports directly to the Principal.

Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Performing basic janitorial functions such as vacuuming, mopping floors, washing windows, maintaining bathroom facilities, emptying trash, etc.
  • Order maintenance supplies through the administrative manager.
  • Setting up gym for student meals and other events.
  • Notifying the school Administrative Manager or Parish Manager of necessary repairs beyond own capacity.
  • Performing general grounds-keeping chores and removal of light snow.
  • Ensuring general security of the building and grounds.
  • Summer duties:
    • Thoroughly clean all rooms and furniture.
    • Strip and wax all floors.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

This individual is responsible for cleaning and maintaining good order in one or more generally large facilities.  The position requires varying degrees of physical exertion, to include lifting (at least 30 lbs.), and operating cleaning equipment.  Also required are organizational skills, adaptability, flexibility, dependability, the ability to take instructions, and to work without supervision.  Absolute trustworthiness and the willingness to maintain confidentiality are essential.  A valid drivers’ license is required. No formal educational background or experience is required.

School Food Services DirectorSchool - Cafeteriafull time - 10 month

Responsible for managing the kitchen facility for school and parish activities.  Adhere to and implement the National School Lunch Program.  Provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, and food safety guidelines are met.  This will include keeping the kitchen clean, orderly and presentable at all times. Reports to the Principal.

Duties may include any or all of the following:

Administrative:

  • Coordinate the schedules of cafeteria and kitchen employees.
  • Supervise and evaluate cafeteria and kitchen employees.
  • Maintain and provide CEUs for cafeteria staff.
  • Maintain production logs
  • Establishing procurement policies and procedures.

 

Financial:

  • Manage the student cafeteria accounts
  • Assist in the budget preparation of the program.
  • Monitor the income and expenses, adhering to the annual budget and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain records for food production, inventory, income/expenses, meal counts and personnel.

 

Food Service:

  • Place food orders for school and other parish organizations as requested
  • Place milk order.
  • Oversee menu planning.
  • Develop marketing and programs to teach nutrition and promote healthy choices.
  • Assist in the planning of the purchases of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Place commodity orders and verify for USDA.
  • Interpret nutrient analysis spreadsheets.
  • Respond to student and parent preferences to plan menus that encourage participation in the program.
  • Provide information to parents for food allergy or medical reasons.
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation and serving of meals as well as clean up.
  • Monitor and ensure that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained.
  • Complete a DPI approved Sanitation and Safety course, including recertification as required.
  • Laundry as needed.

 

Government Programs:

  • Complete required training programs required by the NSLP, including recertification as required.
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the principal and the instructional support teacher, the Federal Title I Program to include sending applications to the school districts and parent surveys.
  • Manage the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), including record keeping, reduced/free lunch applications, communication with government agencies, parent surveys, and applications.
  • Make yearly application to NSLP.
  • Complete annual training for NSLP
  • Submit monthly reimbursement claim to NSLP.
  • Maintain and process records for Frre/Reduced Meals benefits applications.
  • Complete 3 year audit reporting
  • Complete all federal and state mandatory reports.
  • Report on Pennsylvania Department of Health Inspections.
  • Manage school purchasing for the following: Act 90, Act 195
  • Keep records current in NPIS website.
  • Make purchases in accordance with the NPIS.
  • Complete the AR review every three years.

This individual is responsible for planning and executing a school lunch program.  Knowledge of the NSLP and its requirements are essential.  This individual should possess adequate cooking skills and a working knowledge of hygiene, and proper food handling.  Creativity in menu planning and knowledge in basic nutritional requirements are essential.  Organizational skills, a working knowledge of commercial safety procedures, adaptability, flexibility, dependability and the ability to take instructions and meet deadlines are also essential.  The position requires varying degrees of physical exertion, to include lifting (at least 50 lbs.) stretching, bending, climbing stairs and operating equipment. High School diploma or equivalent.  Specialized training in food service management and nutrition is desirable.

Development DirectorSchool Officefull time - 12 month

St. Joseph School in York is accepting résumés for a part-time Development Director.  Interested applicants must be able to develop and implement a comprehensive development program for the school.  The foundations of this position are developing relationships with families; recruitment and retention of students; securing funding through fundraising, grants and other government programs; planning the logistics and communication of school events.  As a visible representative of the school, this person must be reliable, trustworthy, able to maintain confidentiality, and put the interests of the school first in all actions and communications with others. 

 

Individual should have a Bachelor’s degree in communications and/or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a comparable field.  Experience in the Development field preferred.
