All Parishioners are asked to support the ‘Mission’ of our Parish contained in its Mission Statement. Parishioners do this in two ways: first, by their financial support (we are a tithing Parish); and secondly, by personal involvement in one of the many areas of lay ministries.
The ministries of the Parish are basically directed by our Pastoral Council (head staff, including priests) for the common spiritual good of all Parishioners and also for the common witness of faith to the broader community. Parishioners often express a desire to “give back” a share of their blessings. Ministry rises out of this sense of gratitude to God, to the Church and, at times, to personal relationships within the Church or the broader community. Parishioners, who take part in the many opportunities (refer to the Listing of Parish Ministries) to serve others, even for a limited time, fulfill the basic command of Jesus: “Love God with your whole heart and soul and to love your neighbor as yourself’.
All Parishioners are invited to participate actively in the life of the Parish. Your personal participation, especially for new Parishioners, is the primary way of being at home in the Parish and of actively expressing faith. The Liturgical Ministries of Parish are always in need. These include Lectors, altar servers, choir member, ushers and Extra-ordinary Minister of Communion. (These ministries may need special training or ecclesial approval.) Please consult the Web Site for more details or call the Parish office to discuss with the pastor your ‘desire to serve’.
