"Creating a Safe Environment" Online Course
  1. Go to the Creating a Safe Environment page on the Diocesan website.
  2. Complete your first name, last name, last four digits of your social security number, and your email address.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Complete your information.
    • If you are a volunteer for the Parish,
      1. Select the category Parishes from the drop-down menu.
      2. Select Saint Joseph Parish, York in the location drop-down menu.
      3. Select the function/role in which you will be serving.
      4. Click Add.
    • If you are a volunteer for the School,
      1. Select the category Catholic Schools from the drop-down menu.
      2. Select Saint Joseph School, York in the location drop-down menu.
      3. Select the function/role in which you will be serving.
      4. Click Add.
  5. Click Enter.
  6. Read the acknowledgement of the Code of Conduct PDF documents that apply to your role.
  7. Click Creating a Safe Environment Training Course to initiate the online course.
  8. Complete the Safe Environment Training Course.
  9. When taking the quiz, you must click Submit to go to the next question.
  10. When finished with the quiz, click Finish.
  11. A page will appear to thank you for taking the Safe Environment Online Training. It is recommended that you print this page for your records. Also, print a copy for the Parish’s records.
  12. Go to the email inbox of the address you mentioned at the beginning of the registration.
  13. You should receive an email from YouthProtect@hbgdiocese.org.
  14. Forward this email to YPP@sjy.org. In the subject of the message, please enter your first and last name. In the body of the message, please mention your first name, last name, and the ministry or ministries for which you plan to volunteer.
