Mission Statement

To keep St. Joseph's home-bound parishioners in communion with the Catholic Community through:

  • distribution of the Holy Eucharist;
  • visitations; 
  • transportation to/from doctors; and
  • information on community services relevant to the aging population and their families/caregivers.

What is the time commitment?

Extraordinary Ministers serve once a month - either Sunday or during the week.  Transporters are usually requested during normal business hours and are as flexible as your time allows.

 

Who is Eligible? 

  • 18 years of age;
  • Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – York;
  • Be in good standing with the Catholic Church;
  • Practicing your faith;
  • Be of respected and upright character;
  • Willing to serve on a regular basis;
  • Complete Application For Mandate from the Diocese of Harrisburg;
  • Schedule appointment to meet with Fr. Louis Petruha, Pastor; and
  • Attend a Training Session for Extraordinary Ministers with the Diocese as well as our own parish training.
