Who are we?
Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are the ordained (bishop, priest, deacon). Extraordinary Ministers are members of the Parish trained to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion. The Eucharist is the Source and Summit of our faith. Extraordinary Ministers are baptized and confirmed men and women of prayer who have a special love of the Eucharist. They assist in distributing Communion at Mass on Sundays, Holy Days of Obligation and other Feast Days.
Who is eligible to join?
You need to be a member of the parish, at least in their senior year of high school, known for a good Catholic manner of living, and for service to the parish and community. If you are interested in assisting with this special ministry, you will be requested to meet with our Pastor. After meeting with him, you will be asked to attend a training session in the theology of the Eucharist which is given by our Diocesan Office of Worship. After receiving your mandate from the Diocese, you will be given practical training particular to our parish.
