Scrip FAQ
Question: What is SCRIP?
Answer: Scrip is a program that encourages people to purchase
gift certificates from participating merchants at face value. Each
merchant provides a "Rebate Percentage" (which varies from
merchant-to-merchant. Typically from 2% to 25% of the value). 45% of
the percentage goes to the school, 45% goes to the family's account
and 10% goes toward administrative costs.
Question: What Are The Fees Associated With SCRIP ?
Answer: Scrip is purchased from a scrip company or directly
from the store at the discounted amount. The profit from selling
scrip at face value is applied to the school fund or tuition
reimbursement etc.
Question: How Do I Purchase SCRIP ?
Answer: SCRIP can be ordered easily :
[1] Parents can fill out a SCRIP order form and send it to school on
Monday mornings with payment in a clearly marked envelope (marked
"SCRIP").
[2] Everyone can order SCRIP after mass on Saturday evenings or
after mass on Sundays. Also check out the calendar on the scrip home
page.
[3] SCRIP can be ordered by calling one of the SCRIP moms. Please be
courteous. Call the school (717-755-1797)for phone numbers.
Question: How Do I Pay For My SCRIP Order ?
Answer: We accept cash, check, Visa or Mastercard.
Question: When Will My Order Be Ready, And Where Do I Pick
It Up ?
Answer: SCRIP orders are submitted each Monday (unless there
is a Monday holiday) and are available for pickup Thursday
afternoons. Orders placed after mass are available after mass the
following weekend, or after noon on Thursday (you need to please ask
for this option when placing your order after weekend mass. SCRIP
orders can be sent home with your child on Thursdays if the SCRIP
administrator has your signed permission to do so.
