May Procession and 6th Grade Graduation

Before you know it, the May Procession and then the Graduation Mass will be occurring!

As in the past, there are some things you need to know about dress for the two events. Both boys and girls will need to dress up. Boys will need dress slacks and belt, a shirt that buttons all the way up the front, and a tie. The girls will need a modest skirt or dress that covers the knees, and hose. The girls may have no bare shoulders. No one may wear sneakers; all should wear dress shoes. The same attire may be worn for both the May Procession and Sending Forth Ceremony.

On the morning of the May Procession, each sixth grader should bring to school at least one long-stemmed flower to honor Mary. Please do not bring tulips, the petals usually fall off before we go to church! We will have vases of water in our classrooms where the children can put their flowers until it is time for the procession.

The Crowning of Our Blessed Mother Mary will occur during our May Procession. The sixth graders have been practicing for this wonderful prayer service to honor our Mother for several weeks. Each grade has learned a special hymn which they will sing to show their devotion to Mary. We invite all our families to attend this special prayer service at 1:15 Friday in the Church. Seating for the sixth grade parents will be reserved behind their classrooms. The fifth grade ushers will be happy to show you to your seats. Please arrive by 1pm to be seated at the start of the service.

Parents and guests are welcome to attend the May Procession, May 21, at 1:15 PM and the Sixth Grade Graduation, June 4, 9:00 AM.
