Overview

This course involves the basics of the essential Microsoft Office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, FrontPage, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access is not offered at this time. 

 

In this course, you will learn how make make professional-looking PowerPoint presentations, intricate Excel spreadsheets, professional Word documents, high-quality FrontPage websites, and flashy Publisher publications.

Time Period

This course will be a six-day course at about three hours (definite time can be found in the "Schedule" part of this website) each night.

 

 

Requirements

AT HOME OR WORK  Your home or work computer should be running at least Microsoft Office 2000 (Microsoft Office 2000 will be the version focused upon; however, 2002 and 2003 is also taught). 

 

AT THE COURSE CLASSROOM  On the first day of class, you should bring with you a pencil or pen, pocket folder, and a copybook (spiral or marble). Bring and take all work materials given out home and back to class each time the class meets.

 

 

Cost

The cost is $80 per person. This defrays the cost for use of the Computer Lab and school facilities, materials, and complementary refreshments.

 

Computer knowledge before taking this class

It is highly recommended that students should understand the concepts taught in the Course 1: Introduction to Computer Basics and Microsoft Windows before this class. If you have not taken Course 1 but would still like to take this course, you may test your skills with the Online Concepts Checker (click here). Though these concepts are HIGHLY recommended, it is not mandatory that you take any other Technically Speaking class before taking this one.
