IS THERE A WEDDING IN YOUR FUTURE?

CONSIDER THESE BENEFITS OF GETTING MARRIED  IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH…
 

· In the Church, marriage is a sacrament through which God pours out ABUNDANT GRACE.  Every marriage needs grace to hold it together.  Claim your grace!

· No matter how much or how little TRUE FAITH you have experienced in your lifetime, trusting God to lead and protect you as a couple when you put Him first in your marriage will bring you peace and security through the most trying of times.

· Inviting all of your family and friends to a SACRED PLACE of worship to celebrate your union as husband and wife sets the stage for the hearts of those you care most about in the world to be touch by the most gentle healing touch of our Lord.

· Getting married in the Church establishes your new family in the Body of Christ and COMMUNITY OF FAITH.  Community provides support in ways you may never have felt a need for as a single person.  Marriage is hard.  You’re going to want that support.

· Within that community, the chances of being asked to be a GODPARENT or sponsor for Confirmation in the Catholic Church down the road are high.  Getting married in the church (along with having all three Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, 1^st Communion and Confirmation) sets you up to be eligible to accept this role of honor.

· Getting married in the Church will set your family on a trajectory towards a life full of FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE—the gifts God wants most to give you.

Claim your grace.  Grow in faith.  Offer that grace to your family and friends by inviting them to witness this sacred event.  Join our community of faith.  (Register in the parish at www.sjy.org.)  Get support.  Be a godparent.  Live a life full of faith, hope and love!
